Other specialist services

Financial advice doesn’t exist in a vacuum. At certain points in your life, you may find you need expert advice and guidance on more specialised areas of financial planning. We offer support through referral to other associated, specialist services. These include Will writing, personal tax advice, legal services, portfolio management, specialist insurance and corporate lending.

The products and services from other providers are always carefully selected to complement and enhance the range of St. James's Place products on offer.

Some of the services we have available to us are separate and distinct to those offered by St. James's Place. Wills, specialist tax advice, legal services and corporate lending are not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

Charitable giving & philanthropy

Helping you use money as a force for good

At SJP we are dedicated to finding new and innovative ways to tackle some of the world’s most pressing social and economic issues. Charitable giving is one of the most powerful levers we have.

Our charitable giving proposition is here to help you maximise your impact, and use your money to help create a world you believe in.

We want to increase awareness of philanthropy, and to help you understand how you can most effectively and efficiently support charities and causes personal to you.

At SJP, we want to make giving easy. That’s why we work with trusted third parties, either through the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) or referrals to a specialist solicitor to create a bespoke solution. This allows you to set aside money in a tax-efficient manner, for gifts to charitable causes, now and in the future. We can advise you on what giving vehicle would help you achieve your charitable giving goals. So, whether you are starting on your journey, want to expand or continue your philanthropic endeavours, we are here to support you.

We believe your gifting experience should be rewarding and should evolve to keep pace with growth in your ambition and generosity. To find out more and start the conversation, please get in touch.

Will writing

Making a Will that reflects your wishes and beliefs is key to Inheritance Tax (IHT) planning

Making a Will is often something that we put on a ‘back burner’ while we’re busy doing other things. But a Will is one of the most important pieces of forward-planning for your family’s financial wellbeing. A well-written Will ensures you leave assets to the people you choose to, make the most of the tax reliefs available, and mitigate IHT where possible.

If you don’t make a Will, your estate will be divided according to intestacy (absence of a Will) rules, not according to your wishes.

It’s worth bearing in mind that a Will you made many years ago may not reflect who you want to leave money to now, or how you wish your estate to be distributed after you die.

Therefore, it is important to review your Will as part of your regular financial ‘health-checks’ to make sure it still reflects your wishes.

We can provide access to a number of legal service providers which can arrange Wills on your behalf. A referral to these providers and the services they provide are separate and distinct from those offered by St. James's Place.

The levels and bases of taxation and reliefs from taxation can change at any time. The value of any tax relief depends on individual circumstances.
