Why consider investing with Paul Baldwin & St. James's Place

Asset Management

We recognise that successful investment, whether it is in the form of pension provision, capital creation or income maintenance, is critical to your future well-being, but it is a field which presents a unique challenge as future performance is unpredictable.

Paul Baldwin provides access to a distinctive investment management approach through his association with St. James's Place.

Unlike most other financial services companies, St. James's Place has no investment managers of its own, instead they have selected a number of respected external investment houses to look after their funds.

The cornerstone of the St. James's Place approach is its Investment Committee, advised by a number of external independent consultancies.

The Investment Committee has the responsibility of selecting, monitoring and changing external fund managers. To this end, the Committee meets quarterly to review performance and consider detailed reports from each external firm. If a change in the market place calls for the addition of another firm, the Committee will select one. If the Committee loses confidence in the ability of an existing firm of managers it will replace them, without any tax or charges to the client.

Private Portfolio Management Service

Separate to the asset management offering, we also have access to a Private Portfolio Management Service, available to our clients through Rowan Dartington, the stockbroking arm of St. James's Place, to cater for their specific stockbroking needs.

Clients can determine their own individual requirements, whether they are looking for straightforward share dealing transactions and utilisation of annual Capital Gains Tax allowances, or full portfolio strategy incorporating investment vehicles such as OEIC, Unit Trusts and Gilts etc.

The value of an investment with St. James's Place or Rowan Dartington may fall as well as rise. You may get back less than the amount invested.

The levels and bases of taxation and reliefs from taxation can change at any time. The value of any tax relief depends on individual circumstances.
