Based in York, I provide wealth management advice to clients both within the beautiful City of York and surrounding county, and more widely throughout the north east of England.

About

After leaving York Sixth Form College in 1986, I completed 9 successful years in banking as a customer service adviser and as a head office staff member. In 1995, I moved into running courier and car spraying businesses with my father before deciding to move back into financial services in 1998 and the rest, as they say, is history.

I have now established many working relationships with individuals and businesses within this region due, in part, to the insight and understanding that I have for their specific financial requirements – whether these be personal or corporate.

I am committed to ensuring that my industry knowledge remains relevant and current by placing strong emphasis on my personal development, this, along with the pride and dedication that I place on developing solid personal relationships with my clients, ensures that am I able offer a rounded, professional and principled service.

In line with my professional background, I have focussed on developing specialist knowledge and am now fully qualified as a trusts* and estate planning Partner. As a representative of St. James's Place my service is also enhanced and complemented by the provision of advice covering the areas of investment planning, Inheritance Tax planning and retirement strategies.

Fundamentally I see my approach as one of problem-solving for the client - rather than product-selling. As a result, my clients can expect to receive the most comprehensive and appropriate advice at all times.

Charity and Welfare are also important to me and I regularly give to charitable causes via the

St. James's Place Charitable Foundation, which contributes to many worthy charity projects both in the UK and abroad and I have recently joined ‘Dementia Friends’, which is a non-profit organisation that promotes understanding of people living with Dementia. This not only helps me to deal with elderly clients in my Later Life Planning role but also assists in my day-to-day existence with a family member who suffers from Alzheimers. It has already helped me in having more understanding of the condition and how to have a positive approach towards them.

Outside of my business, I am a keen footballer, in spite of my age, occasional home brewer, novice electric guitar player and long-time genealogist.
