I have always been a firm believer in financial planning. It is essential that people take the long-term view with their money to avoid periods in their lives, and the lives of those they care for, when they are unable to enjoy the quality of life that they deserve.

I believe that to make effective plans you need to be aware of the relative probabilities of success of different financial strategies in meeting particular needs and goals, always with an eye to tax-efficiency and practicality. I help my clients with sometimes some of the most important decisions of their lives, developing and adapting plans according to changes in individual circumstances over time. I believe that excesses in good times should be utilised to protect against the stresses and strains of bad times, whether these are foreseeable or not. I was invited to join St. James's Place at the start of 2010 from my previous position as a Financial Adviser and Stockbroker with Edward Jones. I live in Horsforth in Leeds with my wife Emma and two daughters.
